3. JESUS FALLS UNDER THE CROSS

V.     We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you,
R.    because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.

V.    Jesus, you died for our sins.
R.    Have mercy on us.
V.    Jesus, you prayed for those who persecuted you.
R.    Have mercy on us.
V.    Jesus, an angel comforted you in your anguish.
R.    Have mercy on us.
V.    Jesus, you were betrayed for thirty pieces of silver.
R.    Have mercy on us.
V.    Come to me all who are weary
    and are over burdened.
R.    Help us, O Lord, in times of temptation.
V.    Give us the grace of repentance.
R.    Purify and cleanse our selfish hearts, O Lord,
    and make us humble.
A.    Glory be to the Father ...
A.    Forgive us our sins, O Lord, for you are rich in love and mercy.
V.    Lord Jesus, our crucified Saviour,
R.    have mercy on us, and pardon the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
